SilvIA Earth presents its wildfire prediction technology at the UC3M Deep Tech Investment Forum
On 8 October 2026, SilvIA Earth took part in the 2nd UC3M Deep Tech Investment Forum, held at the Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campus of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. The forum brings together deep tech startups, investors and innovation support organisations to help science-based technology projects secure funding.
The company attended with two goals: to learn in detail about the funding instruments available to deep tech companies, and to present its technology and business model to potential investors. SilvIA Earth is incubated at the UC3M Science Park, within the C3N-IA programme, and the forum is part of the entrepreneurship support ecosystem in which it operates.
Funding to drive deep tech innovation
The day opened with a panel on the funding and support ecosystem for deep tech entrepreneurship, with representatives from CDTI, the European Innovation Council (EIC), ICEX, FGCSIC Ventures and SpainCap.
The speakers reviewed public and private funding instruments and support programmes for technology companies at different stages of development. The session stressed the need to coordinate innovation, funding and knowledge transfer so that advanced technologies reach the market.
SilvIA Earth applies artificial intelligence and Earth observation data to wildfire risk prediction. For a company like this, understanding the funding landscape is a key part of its growth strategy.
Presenting SilvIA Earth to investors
The programme included a pitch session by deep tech companies from the industrial, space, artificial intelligence and materials sectors. SilvIA Earth attended the forum with its three co-founders. Alejandro Cano, CEO, and Javier Chaves, CFO, were in charge of presenting the company to investors.
In their pitch they set out the company's technology and business model. The SilvIA Earth platform combines satellite data from the European Copernicus programme with other sources of land information. From this data, its artificial intelligence models estimate wildfire risk before ignition occurs. With this information, public administrations, natural area managers, companies and landowners can plan and prioritise prevention on objective grounds.
The proposal responds to a need in the sector: complementing the current wildfire management model with data-driven prevention tools that make it possible to anticipate and reduce risk.
B2B meetings with investors
The day ended with one-to-one B2B meetings between startups and investors. SilvIA Earth met funds and investors interested in learning more about the platform, the business model and the potential of the technology.
These meetings are part of the pre-seed round that SilvIA Earth currently has open. They allowed the company to present the project to investors specialising in deep tech and to move conversations forward ahead of this round.
